    how long should i wait?
me and my partner have been trying for a baby for nearly six months now.My ovulation date for this month was the 20th July ( if worked out right I used an ovulation calendar to help me) we had sex the 19th 20th 21st 23rd and 25th was these the right dates and what are my chances or conceiving this month? And also how long should I wait before taking a pregnancy test? And are the thin stick tests that you can get as successful as the digital ones as the test was only 99p? Is it best to spend £10 on one or are they all effective? Any advice greatly appreciated thank you x x x x

I can't tell you what your chances of conceiving are this month. However, knowing when you are ovulating is important when trying to become pregnant. Around the time you are ovulating I would have sex every other day instead of every day. This lets the sperm count build back up, although it only takes one sperm to become pregnant.
Wait until your missed period before you take a hpt. Some test say they can predict 5 days before your missed period but you run a high risk of getting a false negative. When I found out I was pregnant I took the hpt the day after I was suppose to start my period.
I think as long as you have enough hcg build up the cheap hpt test are just as good as the expensive ones.
Remember to use your first morning urine when taking the test.
    Good luck!

I have found over the years that the dollar store tests are just as good as the 10 dollar ones. Walmart sometimes witll have a multipack for 5 bucks or so.

I would wait until a week past your missed period, at least... 2 weeks is best.

If that is the correct day for ovulation, then you have hit the nail on the head. I agree that you should have sex every other day versus every day though. Also I would have started trying a few days earlier than the 19. No one can tell you whether your going to be pregnant this time or not, but it looks like you hit your most fertile times. Good luck to you. Don't get frustrated, and try to just go with the flow. We all have been there.
