    Gum knot yellow
    Hi
I have had a knot for about 4 months now. It was at one time draining with yellowish fuild.
I went to my dennist, & he took x-rays & said I would have to go to a specialist. He saw no reason for it.
I have gotton busy & it is no longer draining. So I have not got to a specialist. It is just a hard knot on my gum line in the front part of my mouth above my lip. I have not had anything done, except have my teeth cleaned. Got any ideas?
    Thanks
    Kathryn

I'm not quite sure what you mean by a "knot". I'm guessing that you mean a bump?
If it's hard it may be nothing at all but some bone growth. However, if it was draining you may have an abscess and need a root canal. Did your dentist refer you to an endodontist or an oral sugeon?

    Hi
Yes I mean a bump. There was a root canal, but that was about 6 years ago.
    Oral Surgeon.
My dennist took exrays & it didn't show anything. Would that show something if there was anything wrong?
    Thanks

The x-ray would show if there was any infection at the tip of the root. It's a good thing that he didn't see anything there. Sometimes people can get boney growths on the cheek sides of their teeth, they are usually harmless. I'll be interested to hear what the oral surgeon says. The puzzling piece is the yellowish fluid you had from it.
