    Washer drain hose
My drain hose was cracked bad after twenty years and I replaced it with one I purchased at Home Depot. The original one was longer, but I bought this one anyway. The original was drapped over the hanger and then through the opening in the back cover and then hooked into the drain (which is higher than the top of the washer). The new one is not long enough to drape over the hanger and then reach the drain outlet. I, therefore, hooked it to the washer, clamped it, and ran it through the cover hole and into the drain.

My question? Why do you have to run it over top the hanger? Is this just to keep the hose from getting kinked or tangled, or does it form some capillary action? Thanks much.

You should be OK. Just make sure there is no kink in hose. Good Luck
