Ask Me Help Desk - Trying to conceive isn't easy.

:( Okay, all, I am 20 yrs. old and me and the love of my life have been trying to conceive for quite sometime now about a yr. and a few months, and it just isn't happening. I have gone to the doctors to get checked, they thought it had something to do with my menstrual period so they did tests on my thyroid, to see if it had to do with my horomones, and everything was okay...? If thats the case what do you think is wrong? They said that they would try to see if they can do an ultrasound to see if I had fibroids, and if I do there is a chance I won't be able to have children, and that devistates me... What is a young woman to do? Please answer, someone. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart

You are very right, trying to conceive is harder than one may think. Have you been charting and timing intercourse around ovulation? I'm sure you have but it doesn't hurt just to check. I'm not exactly for sure what could be causing your delay but I want to let you know that it takes most healthy couples up to a year to conceive so don't feel too down, a lot of people on this site have been trying for a lot longer than that even. Hopefully they can give you some insight to your question as well.

You know sweetie that's funny you asked that because I am the same age and going through the same thing. I want a baby with the love of my life so bad I can taste it . Every pregnant person I see I can't help but wonder why them and not me. What I have come to relize is that doctors are human to they do make mistakes. They don't always have the answers you will have your bundle of joy (and I as well to) all in a matter of time.. . good luck
