Hello out there, I need assistance with the name of a cartoon movie that I remember seeing on TV in the mid 80's so it could have been made in the early 80's or 70's.

The movie is about this magical doll that was created by a wizard, I believe, but when the wizard got tired of it he tossed the doll out and the doll was later abused by people and later tossed around. The doll eventually came to life with magical powers and enacted revenge on people by turning everyone into living puppets and using them to build a castle across the sea where he lived. A couple of kids who were wondering where the people of the town were disappearing to and followed the living dolls to the island and there confronted the magical doll. They there discovered that all the doll wanted was to be loved and, I believe that one of the kids did love him and broke the dolls spell which started the castle to collapse and the doll to revert back into a doll.

I know that is a detailed telling for a person not to remember the name of the movie. If it helps, on Cartoon Network the "Kid's Next Door" did a spoof of this in episode 45: Operaton SATURN. I've tried to e-mail them a couple of times but haven't gotten a response so I'm asking you.

I may be very, very wrong but it sounds kind of like Unico: In the Magic Island (1983) I haven't seen the movie in many many years but there's an evil character that turns people into blocks to build the walls of his castle.

Anyway I hope it helps.
