Hi,
We purchased a house a little over a month ago. The house was built in 1999. It is a 2 story house and in the bathroom on the 2nd level, when you turn on the faucet in the sink either all the way to hot or all the way to cold (it is a one handled faucet), the pipes make a loud banging noise. If the faucet handle is on and in the middle (mixing the water) there is no banging. We have not noticed any banging on any other faucets in the house nor the tub faucet or toilet that are in the same bathroom. Any suggestions as to what might be causing it. Our water does have pretty high pressure, as one of our neighbors told us they had a pressure regulator installed. We do not know the exact pressure yet, but we will be checking this, because we noticed that the previous owner's water bills were
A little on the high side. Thanks for any input!:) Oh, by the way the pipes only make the banging noise when the water is on, not when it is shut off.
Thanks
B
