Direct Drive Whirlpool washer not going into spin
    Hi,
My 14 year old washer stopped going into the spin cycle. I took it apart and found the motor coupler was broken so I replaced it. I also replaced the agitator dogs since these were worn out. This did not fix the problem. I checked the lid switch and it seems to be working since the water stops draining when I lift the lid up.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Tom

Check the lid switch with a continuity tester or jumper around it. It does agitate, correct? You solenoid switch could be bad. Chheck it for continuity as well.

Yes, it does agitate. I'll jumper the switch and let you know.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I bypassed the switch and still no spin. I can hear the motor running but the tub does not move. I can move the tub manually but that is it. I had no tool to test the continuity of the switch itself.
Is there anything else you can think of before I cart it out to the curb?
    Thanks for your assistance.

    Tom
