I want my 8yo son back from my perents who he has been living with for the last 5 years, and he wants to be with me but I have no idea where to start! Well I signed over temp cutody 5 years ago and my sicho mother has been fighting me on and off ever since but this is the first time I got really serious about it because my son wants to be with me now and before he didn't want to leave there so I wasn't going to make him.

You'll have to file a motion to modify the custody order. Present the evidence that you've shared here. As his mother that gives you a solid leg to stand on. As long as there's merit to the claims you've made here, I'd say your chances are very good.
