    Re-building my old tile shower
My tile shower was leaking and I figured re-caulking, regrouting might fix it but no luck. It turns out the pan is most likely the problem. The house was built in 1990.

    Photos included.

I've been told (because I want to stick with tile) I need to tear everything out and basically rebuild the shower, replace the pan, etc. I've also been told not to use that shower because this could cause further problems down the road. The quote including tax comes to over $1700. Should all the plumbing be intact, isn't this a job I can do myself?

    Is $1700 reasonable.

All input is welcome. Educate me.. . Please.

    Thank you,

    Eva

$1700 is probably about right for a total rebuild. You could do this yourself if you have the time. Where is it leaking?
