This girl I know seems to have a rude boyfriend. Whenever I run into the two of them (she)talks to me trying to make conversation but he barely looks at me let alone speaks to me. He just sits there in silence and barely turns his head to look over at me.

I know he's shy but him and I use to be friends,but since he got a girlfriend and I have a boyfriend we're not friends anymore.Why is he acting this way? He recently sent me a "Happy Birthday'' to me on facebook, and usually says "hello" online but face to face he is silent, what's the deal?

He may be really shy around other girls when he is with his girlfriend. Who knows? Just be friendly and try your best. You can't do any more than that!

Perhaps his girlfriend is the jealous type and he is simply trying to avoid the third degree if he should show any interest in you.

Sometimes interconnected relationships can get complicated. Now that he has a girlfriend, he may be pretending to ignore you in front of her so that he doesn't send the wrong message that he's interested in you, too, even if it may be as simple as friends. This doesn't mean that he's stopped being friends with you, because he's talking to you in different ways when he's not around his girlfriend. The girlfriend seems to be comfortable around you if she's making conversation. If this is true, I would suggest talking to your old friend, and letting him know how you feel. Ask him politely why he's acting this way, and if he has a good reason, don't criticize him for it, but accept it. That respect will make you closer friends, and he might eventually open up because of that. Give him time to build confidence and social skills, and encourage him to participate in the friendship, but don't push anything, or it might scare him away. Just keep relaxed in awkward situations, and the three of you will learn to be more comfortable around each other without any suspicion. Hope I helped!

It could be that he likes you and feels weird now that you both are with other people. Bringing up the topic could make it even more awkward, but you still might want to bring it up somehow if you want to try to be friends with him. There was a guy who like me but I didn't like him more than a friend. Then he started dating a friend of mine and wouldn't talk to me or look at me at all--kind of the same thing. I think it was because he just felt weird being around me. I just let it go and it's gotten a little better. Sometimes you just need to give him space and time to work things out.
