    Parental Rights
I recently been contacted by a adoption agency stating that my ex husband wanted to give up his parental rights and give our son up for adoption. I read the email from the woman who works at the agency and talked to one of the reps on the phone and she said that he told her that the court or by his own words that I gave up parental rights of the child which I have not signed any paperwork nor stated that I did so. Can the court decide to take my rights away without me knowing or having a say in the matter?

If you have custody, he can't do squat. Women have more power than men in respects to custody. You can tell the courts that he is lying, and that you did not give permission to give the child up for adoption.

Not if you're the one with custody. If the child is with you and has been since birth, then by default you are the one who has custody, until a court orders otherwise.
