    Romex code through pony wall
What is electrical code for running wire through a pony wall in basement when furring is present. Two options are through the stud or furring. Furring was for finished basement that was ripped out for prep retrofit?
Any idea on where find this information in print on internet?

    Regards,

With furring strip I usually rise up with every cable so that all horizontal runs are above through the joists or the space just below the joist on the foundation wall.

If standard 2x4 studs are used in normal position, the wiring can go through horizontal as usual, keeping the cable hole 1.25" away from a nailing surface. If closer than 1.25" then nail plates are needed to protect the cable.

A link to the code can be found in the Read First post, with instructions how to get there.
