I am just trying to get an idea on the cost for a Rheem Criterion Fan blower motor. I had a technician come out and he stated that I needed a new motor and he could get one and install it for $270 to $325 dollars! Is this price normal?

I'd say no; you could get one probably between 60-100$. Sounds like he's adding labor costs to the price.

Furnace motor prices can vary due to the size of the motor, how accessible is it, the labor rate in your area. This price does not seem to be out of line, I might suggest washing the blower wheel as long as it is apart (should be included) also replace the capacitor. Mike

Why don't you send us some information off the motor that is in your equipment now. Also you do not make it clear if it is the motor for the air handler or for the condensing unit.

Also if you have a doubt if the price is right or not call another company and ask them to give you a bal park figure on what it would cost.
