My acceleration is sputtering or hesitant, now my check engine light came on, what might be the problem?

. Check for codes. AutoZone will check for free. This is a must.
. Replace platinum spark plugs (NGK only) every 50,000 miles.
. Replace distributor cap and rotor every 60,000 miles.
. Replace Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil every 120,000 miles, or 10 years, whichever comes first. At a minimum, you want to have your ICM and coil tested by AutoZone for free.
. Add fuel injector cleaner every 6 months.
