    89 civic no injector pulse
I have a 89 civic 1.5L, (2 injector) we are not getting an injector pulse. We can pour gas in the trottle body and the car will start and run, but no pulse. Any help out there?

First of all - what error codes do you get? Read the FAQ on how to check for error codes if you don't know how to do it. If you get error code 16 - there is something wrong with fuel delivery system.

Second - measure resistance on injectors as described in the FAQ. If resistance is out of specifications - manual suggests you get new injectors.

If resistance is OK - do like this:
    Turn the ignition switch ON.
Measure voltage (on auxiliary injector's 2 pin connector) between the YEL wire and body ground. You should get around 10V. If there is no 10V - repair open or short in YEL wire between aux. injector and ECU. On ECU, the pins for the aux injector is A1 and A3. If that doesn't help - try loaning the ECU from someone who has the same car and recheck everything. If you get voltage with the new ECU - you're ECU is burned and needs replacing.

Next, disconnect the 2 pin connector from the main injector, and measure voltage between the RED wire and body ground. Again, you should have 10V. If you don't get 10V - do the same as above, but use pins A5 and A7 on the ECU (they're for the main injector). Do the same with the ECU.

If everything turns out good until now, then do like this:
    Turn the ignition OFF.
Connect voltmeter positive to YEL/BLK wire of aux injector's connector and negative to the body ground.
    Turn the ignition ON.
If there is no battery voltage for 2 seconds - check it with another ECU. If you get voltage with new ECU - you need to replace your ECU.

Do the same thing with main injector (YEL/BLK wire and body ground - expect voltage for 2 seconds). If you do not get voltage, repair open in YEL/BLK wire between main injector and main relay.

If all fails - sit down and cry. I'll cry with you :)

I've performed all of the above checks too;to no fruitful outcome, though.
I have reason to believe that there are many Civics in the 'BoneYard' because of this same problem. I have power to the injectors (aux and main), but the computer won't pulse either of them ON and OFF.

I read somewhere that I need to check the oil pressure and make sure it has enough oil in it; that I will do AND perform the K-Test (found on this site).

I've performed the K-test (via the MAP sensor connector and the main engine ground on thermostat housing) and everything checks out fine (voltages).

The car was about 1/2full (dipstick) of oil; topped-off.

Next, I used an analog voltmeter and backprobed each of the 4 coloured wires on the distributor (dual-point injector system) to analyize the signals from the TDC and CYL sensors that are in the distributor; NO VOLTAGE CHANGES.

This could be key, since a computer will not put out any signals to the injectors if NO INPUTs are coming from the CYL and/or TDC sensors in the distributor.

I replaced this distributor ALMOST a year ago (but can't remember where I bought it for the warranty; parts stores count on that).

There are 5 wires on the distributor ONE white wire provides 10V (or should that be 12?) to the sensors.

The other 4 are paired for the CYL and TDC sensors.

I think my problem lies in the wiring (for power WHI) or the CYL TDC sensor combo in the distributor.

I'm surprised that there isn't much info on this common HOnda Civic problem on the Web. Well, I can't find anything helpful.

    Please Help, someone.
