We are remodeling our bathroom, the only new thing will be the shower. My question is could we add the drain from new shower to the existing bath-drain (they are close to each other) and do we need vent for new shower?

My code book says, " Yes you can". A total of 4 fixtures may be wet vented off a 2" drain line. Your shower and tub totals 4 fixture units. If the existing tub drain is 1 1/2" you will have to run a separate vent for the shower. Good luck, Tom
