    Just wondering
Hello I was just wondering if there was any way to tell the difference between a period and bleeding while pregnant? I think I'm pregnant but I just started bleeding yesterday. If its my period then its 11 days late. It seems to be a lot lighter than normal and it doesn't have that distinct period smell to it. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about something like this.

There is no real way to tell just by looking. The best thing to do would be buying a HPT and taking it. It should be able to tell by now if you are pregnant or not. If it is negative. And things do not return to normal for you, go see your doctor for a blood test.

I'm going to have to agree with AlkalineAngel, you really should confirm that you are indeed pregnant, or not. If you ARE... 11 days late could mean you are 4-6 weeks. Along. While most women do not bleed once they become pregnant, and is usually not a good sign. However, some women have reported spotting during their first trimester, and a handful reported a flow of a normal period, and everything turned out fine. My cousin was one who had a period up to her 6th month, and when that stopped... she began having contractions. She delivered full term with a healthy baby & now very smart child! This must be your first pregnancy... most women I know, KNOW when they are pregnant the next time around! Hope all is well with you, and good luck.
