    United States Marine Corps Weding
I am Just beginning to plan a weding for January. My fiance' is active duty in the Marine Corps. We are seriously considering having Military Wedding, but I have so many questions, and I can only seem to get bits and pieces answers. Like for example; We still haven't decided if we are going to get married in South Carolina where we live and he is stationed, or if we are going to get married in Mississippi where he is from and all his family is. If we get married in Mississippi how will we be ablw to get our hands on the sabers for the arch ceremony? Another question, depending on where we have the wedding, I am not sure how many sctive duty mariens will be in the wedding, is it unusual for the Groom to be the only one in uniform and the others all in tuxes? Someone please help I have so many questions. Thanks!!

There is nothing wrong with having only a groom in military uniform. It really doesn't matter what any of them wear--its up to you and the groom!

Is there a Marine base where you are in Mississippi? There should be a detail there that does the saber ceremony.

We are in Beaufort SC, he is originally from Raleigh Mississippi, and there is no Marine Base there. I was told today that you can not to the Arch of Swords @ a base chapel, do you know anything about that?

It may be a policy of the chapel. I'm Navy and we did a civilian thing, so I couldn't tell you for sure. My girlfriend had it, but they were outdoors after the vows were made.

Did the chaplain tell you that you couldn't have it or someone else?

Well I didn't get to speak to the Chaplin, it was someone else there, bjut now I am thinking maybe they meant just not inside the chapel, the Arch would have to be outside the chapel doors.
