    P-Trap angle configuration
    Guys,

Does it matter how much the outlet trap arm is turned on a P-trap? I have a tight situation with the installation of my clothes washer drain (in-wall). I'm wondering if I can turn it in the way shown in my diagram, (3).

I know I've seen (2) before, just wondering if there was some rule saying how far you could turn the arm.

The diagram (attached) is top-views of a P-trap, with the inlet on top.

I wouldn't think so. Waste doesn't remember which way it was going before it turned down. If Tom says different, go with what he says.

Labman rides into the rescue. He's 100% correct. Position it where you will. Good luck, Tom
