    Probation Violation
I am currently on probation for distribution of marijuanna. It is a term of 3 years and it occurred in the state of VA. Due to my work circumstances, my probation was transferred to NC. It was in NC were I was arrested for possession of coccaine. I have not been convicted yet and understand that it is not a violation until I am convicted. I was just wondering if anyone had any insight on to what might happen when NC then reports it to VA. To make matters worse, my job is transferring me out to the west coast and I will need my probation transferred again. Any chance I can go through all of this without jail time and still end up out west? Thanks

Actually they can violate you for merely being arrested, they do not have to wait for you to be convicted of it. ** not sure why you believe you have to be.

Also you in your probation would have had been told to report any arrest or other violation. So you should have called and told your PO of the arrest that day or at least at the next PO meeting.
If they find out without you telling them it is going to be a lot worst, since then you had the arrest plus you failed to report it.

There is always a chance of anything, but not if you don't tell and report and work with the PO, Plus of course you have to deal with the possession charge with another conviction already on your record. You may need to worry more about it right now.

I have informed my PO of everything that is going on and have worked dilligently with her to help my cause. I have even started attending NA meetings to help my cause. I believe I am truly doing everything I can to help my case. Any other advice you might be able to offer? Thanks again

No, sounds like you are on the right track and have a PO trying to help.
Not all PO are as equally helping.

If you get probation for the new crime, this will be the new big issue if the next state will take you with two probations hanging over you.

I agree... I know from personal experience.. My boyfriend has been in jail for 7 days for VOP and he has yet to be convicted.. He goes to court in a week and they will convict him then.
