    Landlord foreclosure
My landlord's mortgage was just foreclosed on. I have only lived here for 6 weeks. They never told us anything about them being in trouble ( we would not have moved in if we knew!) and now I assume we'll have to move again. Can I go after them legally for all the trouble another move will cause- we changed schools, signed the kids up for sports, not to mention we'll have to find a new home, and then move everything... AGAIN

    Hello irish:

I would sure give it a try. But, of course, if they can't pay their mortgage, then there's probably nothing left for you.

Agreed, with 6 weeks, they would have known, so it is fairly obvious they knew they were losing the home.

But with that of course there really is no law that says they have to give you notice or tell you, so it may be that the court will allow you to be awarded some money, but if they can't pay for the house, and are losing it, what happens if they win, they don't pay you, and you will have to work at finding money, garnishing pay and so on.
