Some how a video I created in windvd was saved as a "wcp" file and now I can't open it in windows media player or even in the program it was created in. what can I do about this?

Hmmm... it seems that the extension is a windvd project file i.e. a work in progress. WinDVD should be able to open that file and then you would finalize the project.
