    Changing Cacitor
    Hello,

I am going to change a capacitor on A/C motor of a Carrier A/C unit. Any special precautions I should be taking before I remove old capacitor? I am going to disconnect power but what I am concern is, does old capacitor store any voltage? Does it has to discharged? Capacitor is 370 VAC 60 HZ GE #97F5705.
    Thanks

If you wanted to be extra safe. Turn off power to unit, short the 2 or 3 terminals together.
Will discharge any voltage, replace capacitor, apply power. The voltage rating can be higher. Would replace with same Capacitance.
