I need an obgyn in Chicago, IL
Hi, I am the mother of a four year old boy. Almost 2 years ago, after just arriving in Chicago from another state, I lost my second pregnancy, a baby boy at 20 weeks. I found out at my first appointment with my new doctor, so I was given a good amount of attention at the time. Since the delivery and follow-up, it has been nearly impossible to get an appointment or rather one that I can keep, as they have to be scheduled so far out (months) in order to get the doctor I want, that I nearly always have something come up. The practice is large and I am desperate to find something smaller, as I am having issues with my periods and would like to start trying again soon.

PLEASE, if anyone can recommend a doctor in the city of Chicago, I would be so grateful.

Thank you and good luck to all!

If it is important to you that this get settled and even though the appt. must be made in advance, then you have to make that appt. and put other things aside. That is what we all do in this very busy world.

I don't know how it is operated in the states but we have to have a GP here in order to get a referral to a specialist. Is the same procedure true where you are ? I hope it isn't as difficult getting GPs there as it is where I live.

If desperate we can call the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Toronto to start the ground work. Can you do that in Chicago ? They must have a college the same there.

I know I can't recommend, just giving suggestions that you may think about to make short cuts in case you don't get the answer you want here.

Thank you for taking the time to answer. Just wanted you to know that I have not had troubling finding an obgyn. I am looking for recommendations for a smaller practice that will give me the attention I had with my previous doctor in NYC. His practice consisted of three people, so there was more of an intimate relationship with the doctors. The practices I have been in contact with here are larger - 7 to 14 doctors. I have already had to have my second baby with a stranger (not even the ob from my first appt), it was the attending at the hospital, not even someone from here practice, not that I would have known them anyway.

    Just looking for some recommendations.

    Thanks again!

Are you in the city itself or in one of the suburbs? (I live in a western suburb.)

Is there a hospital you would prefer the doctor to be associated with?
