    Hair color
Hi, I let a friend put highlights in my hair. BIG mistake! She put way too much color and it now looks like I dyed my entire head. My original hair color is a med-dark brown with red tones. She used a carmel color hightlight (it looks ORANGE) it was done about 18 hours ago. What can I use (without going to a salon) to get rid of or at minimum tone down the orange color? Any help is appreciated.

Yes you have to go to the oppisite color on the color wheel now- use a color like a dark brunette with NO AMMONIA or peroxide. Like clariol color. SHe didn't leave the color on long enough. Make sure you add a small amount of good conditioner on your hair after and leave on for about 15 minutes you can also add some to the color in the plastic container along with the color- won't hurt the color. Make sure you don't let someone who doesn't lnow what she's doing next time and READ THE DIRECTIONS! DO a Strand test FISRT to make sure your hair can take more damage. OR it MIGHT ALL FALL OUT> ths is why it pays to go to a salon. ALso you can see if there is a local Beauty collage in your area-they are cheap and MUST have instructors who are standing by-who know what they are doing-they are not the BEST but in your case it may be better than going bald. Hey Brittany did it! Good luck and QUIT MESSING WITH YOU HAIR!
