I have always heard that you should know your child's eye color by at least 1 year old. My question is my daughter will be three next month and her eyes are blue but seem to have light brown in them as well. My eyes are blue and my husband's are a brown green color. Not dark brown, but light brown with green in it. My eyes are blue and has a little light brown at times. I am hoping her eyes will stay blue but my husbands brothers and sisters all have brown eyes with only one being green. My daughters eyes seem to still be a little darker blue than mine. Will they stay blue? I am hoping so.

I can only share from my personal experience. I have blue eyes as do both my children. When my son was small his eyes were a clear blue and very bright. As he has gotten older his eyes have gone to a grayer blue (he is 16 now). I notice my eyes are becoming grayer with age as well. My daughter's are still clear and bright and I am waiting to see if hers change, too.

I has dark blue eyes as a young child. Now they are dark green.
