    Kenmore electric dryer schematics model 769801
    Where can I find free schematics for an older kenmore dryer for replacing the 279816 (part #) thermal cutoff kit
    Have part left over not sure where it goes

    I would follow the wires connecting to cuttoff. I have put 2 cuttoffs in my Kenmore, Never put that other one in. I have it if I need It. Dryer works fine. Replacement may not be better.

    Thank you but basically I am trying to put dryer back together and am not sure where this certain part goes do you know how I can get a schematic of the back of dryer when you take off the back.

    Try this site, Number you gave didn't work. Has worked well in the past:

    The part sometimes wire is run with the cuttoff, look at anything on heat shroud with wires.
    If you have no luck, provide Kenmore model#. Thanks Good Luck.
