My strawberry-blonde hair is now BRIGHT red. What do I do?
Every summer my natural strawberry blonde hair gets very, very blonde on the top & sides from the sun. It makes my pale skin look kind of washed out, so I thought hey, I'll get a box of red dye that matches the underside of my hair & that will kind of even it all out. Well now the parts of my hair that were blonde are BRIGHT, BRIGHT red & the more I wash it, the pinker they get & it seems to be mainly centered at the crown of my head & at the sides of my face - making my complexion look HORRIBLE! The back of my hair is fine - its almost the same color it has always been, but the front makes me want to cry!!

Does anyone have any advise as to what to do? Will it just wash out on its own? (It was permanent dye because my hair doesn't hold color well - usually washes out in a couple of weeks) Should I get a brown/auburn color to try to take some of the brightness out of the red? I seriously need some help!! WHAT DO I DO?

Any red colour is the hardest to keep, so trust me, it will fade soon just don't compound the problem by dying it again yet another colour.

Really? But what about the blonde parts - do you think they will just bleach themselves out again or are they going to get pinker? Like I said, I've dyed my hair hair twice before (EVER) & the first time I did it with some at-home stuff in the winter & my hair was almost burgandy & it was gone in less than two week. The second time I had it done was at a salon & the color didn't take at all. The only thing you could see was the blonde highlights.

Strawberry blonde is referred to as reddish blonde. If you've applied a red color to your strawberry blonde hair, it will make your hair more red. Red hair tends to fade faster than any other color. You should wait for the color to fade. There are products, such as prell, dandruff shampoos or clarifying shampoos that you can use to help fade hair color faster. If you want go back to strawberry blonde and cannot wait for the color to fade, then you will need to pre-lighten your hair and then apply the desire color. You can apply reddish brown or auburn color over your hair to tone it down, however, it will make your hair way darker than your natural color if that's what you want.
