    I want my daughter back
My ex-husband filed for a divorce in another state and said that he didn't know how to contact me. They gave him full custody and gave me supervised visitation. He won't let me see her and his girlfriend and he are trying to turn my daughter against me. She thinks I just don't want her anymore. This has been going on for too long and I can't afford a lawyer. What should I do? Please help.

    NowWhat
Will he not even allow the supervised visits? If not, then he is in contempt of a court order.

No he doesn't allow the visits. I live in Texas and he lives in Minnesota and every time I drive or fly up there it is a big scene and they run off with her. I am not rich and I cannot travel across the country all of the time. The last time I went up there I only got to see her for 10 minutes and I had not seen her for the past year and a half before that.

    NowWhat
Who supervises these visits? Is it a court appointed person?
I would contact the court and tell them that he is not following the court papers and see what advice they can give you on what to do.
    It sounds like parental alienation.

How old is your daughter? Do you have any family that can help you with legal fees? Have you contacted an attorney? Most attorneys will offer a free consultation. If nothing else you can find out what your rights are.

Also, contact your local legal aid office - they may be able to get you representation for low to no cost.

Call the court that granted visitation, tell will set up the visitation plan since it is supervised at a location where he will have to bring her to, and drop her off under the supervision of court appointed supervisor.

This way you don't have to see him at all, and the visitation will be more relaxed for you and your daughter.

My daughter is going to be nine in August and they refuse to let me be a part of anything in her life such as parties, dances, even the times when she isn't feeling well. They refuse to communicate with me whatsoever.

    Hello I:

Hire a lawyer!! I know, I know you can't afford it... I've heard that crap before. You also can't afford to miss your daughter's childhood. And, if you don't fight, that's what will happen.

I am going through similar things with my 12 yr. I feel so helpless, during the last year he has been emotionally abusing her and has just progressed. He beat her with a leather belt because she had a "boyfriend" (who he allowed her to go to0 her 1st boy/girl dance with). I want to try to modify the custody but I am afraid if I lose he will punish my daughter for telling me what she has told me.

I hope all turns out OK for you and your kids...
