How do I display ECU codes on a 1993 Civic (5th gen)?
Can't seem to find that info on the net, only up to 91 (4th gen).

    Thanks,
    Phil

    No-Start on '94 Civic DX
I have the same problem as PhilJ, I can't find any info on how to display the error codes for a '94 Civic. I have read the FAQ posted by CroCivic91 but my Civic has different color wiring. Tried jumping similar looking plugs but to no avail yet.
The engine turns but won't start. It was left in the hot sun for three weeks straight and won't start now, never had a problem before but always parked in a garage. I know the main relay can cause a no-start when the cabin temps get high so I just wanted to check the error codes before I go replacing parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ok, I found out, on my girlfriends car it is not gray, it is blue. See that green rubber cover that contains TWO plugs right above your ECU? Remove the one with TWO wires in it. Jump those two wires with a scrap of wire across the pins or a paper clip or whatever. Then turn the key to on, and the check engine light will flash to show the codes.

For your problem, pop the main relay out (next to the fuse panel held on with one bolt with a 10mm head). Then open the case on the relay and re-solder the cracked joint(s) and put it back together. Free fix if you have a soldering iron. If you don't, a $10 soldering iron will do the job, and then you will have one cheaper than a relay.

Thanks man. I'll try that as soon as I get home. I already own a soldering gun so hopefully it'll be a very cheap fix. Thanks again.

    Glad I could help.
Here is a nice link on soldering the main relay if you need it:

    CEL doesn't flash
I jumped the plug last night and my CEL comes on but just stays on solid, never blinks or does anything. The only light that flashes is my SRS light and that just flashes continuously, no repeating pattern or pauses and I watched for quite awhile. Anyone ever have this problem too? I'm going to resolder the main relay just in case but am confused about the CEL remaining continuously lit.

TimH. Did you ever find out what causes your CEL light to remain on when jumping to diagnsotic connector. I am experiencing the same problem on my 1994 Civic EX. I put the jumper in, turn on the ignition, and the CEL remains on (no blinking) and the SRS light flashes continuously (no repeating pattern).

honda6119 have same problem with CEL when checking for codes. Can't get 92 si to start, resoldiered relay and tested good. Still no spark or fuel, hot wired fuel pump checks good, also checked ignition switch (o/k). Tested ICM, coil all o/k. still no starting yet turns over fine. Stumped.

    I've got the same symptons.
I use to see the error code using the blue connector, but now the Check Engine ligth remains on and the SRS light Blinks Continuosly.

I think it should mean something.!

Could anuy of you discover what's it mean?

Mine flashes 3 fast 5 fast 7 fast... 3 and 5 are both map sensors, are there really 2 map sensors?
