    Venting portable air conditioner
I recently purchased a 10,000 BTU portable air conditioner to cool my living room/dining room which has no source of air circulation. (The bay window doesn't open and the front door opens to a common hallway for the duplex.) How do I vent the air conditioner? I've thought about running the hose down the air intake shaft for the heating system so it would vent into the basement and eventually outside. No one seems to know if this is safe or plausible. Of course I would cut the power to the furnace and turn off the gas. It hit 107 degrees last week here in Montana, and is heading that way again this weekend, so I really need a quick solution.
    Thanks!

Put it in a window that opens that is in a room clostest to the room you wanted it in. 10k BTU should cool several rooms.
