My title is Assistant Manager, second to only the owner of the company because we don't technically have a manager. However, the owner only comes to this location for about an hour a week. Anyhow...this has nothing to do with my degree and I have recently been concerned about my future. My boyfriend, soon to be fiance, is still in school and will graduate next summer but will then be pursuing another 4 year degree. Eventually he would like to move away from where we live now and I do not want to have this job forever, but I can't seem to really figure out what else I can do with my degree. I would like to eventually become a psychologist/counselor but I'm not sure if my personality fits that. I'm not very good with communicating with others and tend to be very shy and quiet. I have considered going back to school to get my Masters in Psychology but again, not sure if my personality fits with this. In the end of all this I do know that I would like to help children in lower income/trouble situations. I would love to work for Child Protective Services.
Overall, I guess I am asking for some advice and reassurance that my life isn't headed nowhere. Also any suggestions of something that I can do with the Bachelor's degree that I already have. Most jobs that I've found require either a Master's or experiene in the field which I don't have.
I think I just keep putting off thoughts of the future because it's not here yet...but I can't wait until it is here and decide to go back to school when I'm married with children. It would be a lot harder to do then.
