I am a 22 year old female and my husband and I have been trying for the past couple of months to get pregnant with no success yet. I have been buying OPKs to try and predict my most fertile days, but not once, in the past two months of testing, has the ovulation sticks told me I have been ovulating. In fear that I had been missing my surge, I started testing right after my period would finish, but still I have had no luck with the OPKs predicting my surge. My question is, do ovulation predictor kits work for all woman in detecting the ovulation surge?

Yes, these kits are designed to detect a woman's surge. In your case, I would suggest stocking up on a full month's supply and test everyday. You could possibly be missing your surge or you may not be ovulating at all ;but chances are, if you have a regular menstrual period, you are probably ovulating. Have you been monitoring other signs of ovulation such as cervical mucus, basal body temp or cervical position? I would recommend charting all of this. Good luck!

Opks don't work for every woman you may not have enough LH for the stick to detect or you may be testing at the wrong time in the day try doing it twice a day

Mrs is right! Also, it's not a good idea to do the test in the morning because LH builds up in your system anyway and can give you a false reading. Try doing it around 3pm; that usually works for me.

Yes, I have been paying attention to my cm, and even though I was never getting a positive reading with the OPKs, we took that as a sign that I was ovulating. With the OPKs I was testing as soon as I would wake up in the morning. I think I am going to start testing at around 3pm like you suggested rank and then again at night. I am just nervous that I am missing my best opportunity to get pregnant.

Yeah first morning pee isn't the best to use with OPKs! If I were you I would start having sex every other day of your cycle, that way if you do miss your surge it will be ensure that you have had sex around that time.

Also remember that you have only been trying to conceive for a few months. It takes most healthy women up to a year of trying before conceiving. Why? Because there is stress involved with trying. Stress is NOT a good thing when trying to conceive.

That sounds like a pretty good way to ensure that if the stick missed it we don't, and my husband is sure not going to argue about getting every other day for a couple of weeks:)

So do I... I had a double implantation dip when I got preggy with the twins... I should have known then that there was two instead of one... I did not take any fertility drugs either and I have twins... lol

Twins are hard I won't lie to you. But they are much easier than most people let on... lol.. even me sometimes. Are you or did you chart on fertility friend?

I did the last time I became pregnant and I am now using it again for this cycle! LOVE IT!
