    Bathtub overflow leak?
Hi, I have called several plumbers, but no one has given me an answer. I live on the bottom floor in a condo. My floor is sometimes wet after I shower, but I can't seem to find the source of the leak. The plumber says it's not coming from the toilet, that it may be the bath tub overflow. The wall with the fixtures is a shared wall with my next door neighbor. Can a plumber check for the leak without cutting into the shared wall? Is there an alternate access? Thank you for your time.

Behind the tub or below the tub is the only way to access the waste and overflow.

Are we talking about a shower *AND* a bathtub -- Or is it a combination tub/shower?

If it's a combination tub/shower, does it happen only after a shower, or does it happen when you draw and drain a bath as well?

Often times leaks like these that happen only when showering can be traced back to a lack of a seal around the tub/shower valve trim, around the tub spout or just water getting past the shower doors or curtain.

    Just some thoughts.
