    Strange water noise
Water sounds like it is flowing though the pipes, but the water meter shows that there is no water usage. It is very lound where the pipes come into the basement. Could it be just pipe noise from water flowing though the main water main? This is a house that is only 5 years old. It is as loud as if someone is talking a shower. Need help

Do you hear the sound when the water in the house isn't being used? Is it constant? Did it start all of a sudden or come on gradually? Do you have a PRV,(pressure reducing valve) or a whole house filter installed in the line?
    Back to you. Tom

To speedball 1 the water pipes makes the noise even when there is no water usage in the house. There is no water filter installed.. If the water is leaking before it enters the house could it make this flowing sound. There are no wet spots around the house. This is a loud water rushing or flowing sound. My son is not worried as the water bill does not reflect high water usage, but it seems to loud for nothing to be wrong. The water meter is in the basement so the nois could be made before the water gets to the meter. Thanks for your help
