I am having severe pain in my lower left leg from the knee down and the left arm from the elbow down. The leg doesn't hurt to touch but the arm does somewhat. Then at night or when I lie down my upper legs both of them hurt unbearable and I use a heating pad on both for some relief.
I have tried walking the pain out but... I have a lot of arthritis but this is something new that has been happening over the past three weeks.
I would appreciate any help. Thanks

You need to see your doctor. If you are not very active, multiple DVTs needs to be ruled out.

Can you think of ANYTHING that may have caused this?

No, and what is DVT's? I am not very active except around the house and garden, I do have back problems but they have never caused anything like this before. I saw the doc and he was so busy that he told me to come back in a couple of weeks after renewing my pills I needed.
He didn't think it was logical that I should have pain while lying down relaxed in bed... sometimes I wonder if docs today get too busy for seniors like me.

Sorry you are in pain. I am not experienced in this field at all. But I did notice you mentioned medicines. Have any of the medicines been newly introduced to you. Are any for cholesterol? I am just wondering and sorry you are having this pain.

Thank you AH dear. That was actually my next question. The meds. DVT (deep vein thrombosis) usually just strikes one area at a time, such as one leg, rarely if ever does it affect two extremities.

If you are on any cholesterol meds, especially a statin, this could be your problem as it is one of the side-effects.

I would be interested to know what meds you are so as to possibly rule this out.

Apparently doc doesn't think any of my meds are causing this cause I am not on any new ones for a long time, iron and potassium, water pill, blood pressure pill, hormone pill, and losec, no new ones for long time. I do have a narrowing of a valve going into my heart and a heart murmur. don't think that's it. Have taken a lot of "charley horses" in my legs at night during sleep lately.

The water pill is four times a week or three depending on my feet swelling, it seems to stop that and have done this for years, there have been some weeks where I don't have to take any more than two, its fuerosomide that is the water pill and atacaand the pressure one.

Furosemide is Lasix.

What are your conditions? Do you have congestive heart failure or is this for your valve problem?

This could be related to other medical conditions and not necessarily meds.

That's just it, I have a lot of arthritis, osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease lower spine and neck, scoliosis, fibromyalgia.
I have COPD and am asthmatic
I used to be 5'2", now I am 4'10", big difference.
The furosemide is for the swelling of the feet that I was having, they were swelling so that I couldn't put my shoes on and the lasix brought that all down.
This has not happened before with me, and the pain is very severe to the point where it actually has made me sick to my stomach.
I am thinking in one respect that I have a circulation problem cause when I walk with my cane I have three fingers that go tingly, same thing happens sometimes when I am sitting.

I think you need to go back to the doc and not let him leave the room until you have explained yourself in full and gotten an explanation that you can understand. You see the doc is your employee, you have every right to get the treatment you are paying him for. If he won't give it to you, fire him and hire a doctor who will give you good treatment.
