Moen Castleby T2377CP Shower Trim

The new shower head is restricting flow. Before I start prying, what I see is this: Just below the threads there is a green "ring" with a center slotted green circular piece and then below that there is the black plastic piece with the holes.

Is this the entire water saver unit?

Best way to pop this baby out of there?

Different manufacturers use different means to restrict the flow.

The key to circumventing the restrictor is to make sure you don't remove the outer portion of it, as this is also the seat for the black rubber washer that seals the connection.

You can usually take a pick or a safety pin and remove just the center portion, and if there is a small rubber o-ring under the removed part, this should be removed as well.

Old question but I just discovered the answer today and wanted to share. All you need to remove is the small black center ring. Leave the green piece intact. Plenty of flow will be provided =-O
