    Washing Machine Water Box Fittings
My cold water water box fitting for the washing machine is leaking. It is sweated onto a 1/2" copper pipe. I do not know how to get all the water out of the pipe to unsweat the joint. There is hardly any room to work because of the tight area and how the fitting is attached to the water box and copper pipe. The leak is coming from the top of the fitting, not where it is sweated. I can't see where the leak is coming from but it is running down the threads on the fitting so I know it is coming from up top. Is there a way to repair the fitting with maybe some kind of gasket?

Yes, Wrap the male threads with Teflon tape and reinstall. If it's not leaking from the sweat joint then you don't need to resolder it. Have a great Forth.
