I am looking for someone who has been in the military or knows a lot about the military, preferably the Navy. I have a question I need to ask and I only want the opinion of someone who knows about the military. Is there anyone out there?

Great! My husband is currently in the Navy. He went on a deployment in 2004 to the middle east on the USS John F. Kennedy. While he was away, he got injured by a piece of equipment on the ship. He tore up his knee really badly. For 2 years, they told him he had tendinitis. Then finally they gave him a CAT scan, which revealed he had a Baker's Cyst and Plica Syndrome. He has had 2 surgeries, the reason for the second is that they screwed up the first one. He has been waived from ANY kind of PT, and been removed from the ship where he was an AO and put in a squadron working in their convenience store. He is currently pending a Medboard to get out. They still MAKE him PT, threatening him with Captain's Mast if he refuses, but he has piles and piles of waivers for PT. Can they actually MAKE him do it, with doctor's waivers? If so, why? And how? If not, what, if anything, can we do about this? I don't want him to get further injured, and he is already limited to what jobs he can do when he re-enters the civilian world.

Might I add, they make him PT three times a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

He needs to go to Legal with a COPY of the no pt forms and let them know his division is making him do pt and ask if they can assist him in getting it stopped, if he hurts himself to where he is disabled then he will be entitled to disability pay from the service. First step is to go to medical and let the DR know he is being required to do pt then to legal...

He has already tried going to his doctor, and they just issue him another waiver. His squadron says the waivers are just "suggestions" and they don't have to follow them. He is already getting disability and compensation from the VA as soon as he is discharged. I don't care about the money I just don't want him to get hurt any worse than he already is. He hasn't tried talking to Legal yet, I will have him do that. Thanks for your advice! :)
