I just paid 54 pounds today to get my hair coloured. I asked for really really light blonde like sarah harding out of girls aloud. I've recently quit smoking, and I used the money I saved up to treat myself. Except its horrible. I might as well not have had it done. All the hairdresser did was dye my roots to the same colour as the rest of my hair (which was a disgusting colour anyway) then comb a bit of bleach through for ut and leave it for 5 minutes. There is absolutely no way I am going back to complain, that would be my worst nightmare. I would rather live with the hair than do that. All I was wondering was, how long should I leave it before I put a blonde dye on it (I have no money left to go to a salon again, not that I trust them, and I can't live like this)
I have washed it twice and it hasn't faded. My roots are ginger, and the rest of my hair is an ugly brassy cheap blonde colour. I really really bad about this, I might as well have smoked because I've wanted to so much. Please can somebody help.

You don't have to wait any certain amount of time. I have dyed my hair over and over and over, about 3 times within a week (which I do NOT recommend by the way, it totally fries your hair). If you find a color you like and think you are going to want to keep, I don't see any problem with dying it again ASAP. Like I said though, don't do it a million times within a small period :)

Sweetie, do not attempt to fix it yourself, it could make matters worse. You should consider going back to the salon and have them fix your hair. Explain to the salon manager that you're not happy with the results, and he/she will appoint a hairstylist to do corrective color.

Hey, I totally feel for you.

About a month ago, I treated myself to a color service. It was a big chunk of money, and I hadn't had my hair professionally colored in years. What I got, was an uneven mess. And I feel that the colorist was just lazy and didn't want to put any effort into what she was doing. I walked out with ends that were black (amongst other things).

I am the last person in the world to lodge a complaint. I don't like to be confrontational... but I did it (gritting my teeth). I nicely explained what the problem was. In order for it to be "fixed" free of charge, I had to go back to the same colorist... which was very uncomfortable and awkward for me. But I was so annoyed that I plunked down all this cash for a result I could have achieved at home...

Well, the lazy girl didn't do much to fix the problem... just added a few highlights to the top and I walked out with ends that were still black. I was ****ed - but what was I to do? Go back a third time? So I just let it go.

BUT. I think you should call the salon back. It was so uncomfortable to me, and even though I still didn't get the desired result, at least I made an effort to get it corrected. It is their responsibility to make sure you are happy with the service.

I also understand if going back isn't an option... hope things work out for you. And congrats on quitting smoking!! I'm still struggling to do that. You deserve perfect color!

How long do I have to wait before I can re-dye my hair

Although you don't have to wait to re-dye the hair, throwing a lighter blonde dye on it simply won't work. Haircoloring doesn't lighten hair that's been dyed -- at least not very much. You have to remove the color first and then re-dye.

How do you remove the colour? Because I have dyed my hair many times but always waited about 4 months before colouring it a completely different colour but I want to dye it a different colour now but I only just coloured it 3 weeks ago, I aam worried about dying it so quickly because my friend redyed hers about 2 weeks after and it went ginger. Will it be OK or will I have to remove the colour or just wait??

I'm going through the same thing with my hair, I dyed but it didn't come out anyway that I planned it. And I wunna re-dye it but I don't know if it will damage or melt my hair! Please Help

I dyed mine like an aburn colour and it barely changed from my natural colour. And I did that on Sunday and I am re-dying it tonight, the same colour pretty much just so that it changes.

Hey, I did the same a couple of weeks ago, I suggest going back to your hairdresser - I know its terrifying but maybe call them and explain. I am really shy but plucked up the courage to call and they said to come in straight away and fixed it free of charge. Another thing is have you tried silver shampoo? Its meant to get rid of brassiness etc, mine went orange but I've been using that and its getting better slowly. I definitely wouldn't put blonde hair dye on, because even at the hairdressers when I got it redone a lot fell out and I think home dye would do more bad than good, especially if it goes wrong then you'll be stuck to fix it after!

I got my hair dyed on Aug. 8th, so I'm ready to dye it again. I know you are going to HATE the sound of this, but if you want a super healthy hair color that you want, you have to wait for a month or two. If you want a crappy hair color, then just do it ASAP. But that is STUPID! So the point is, if you want healthy looking hair, wait for two months at the most. TRUST ME, IM A HAIRSTYLIST!

U can remove the color by using extra virgin olive oil, heating the oil and applying it to your hair for 30 minutes.

Dyed my hair pink and it came out purple. Would it be OK to dye it black or will the color come out awful. Just did it 4 days ago

So I just did my hair a light brown color and it does not show at all. It has been about 2 and a half weeks and I was wondering if it would be okay for me to re-dye my hair right now? I am going from a dark brown to a golden blonde. Please leave comments. :)

I believe salon prices are outrageous to start with, and to pay for something you didn't want is even more outrageous, I would've never left the shop until they got it right the first time! I'm not a confrontational person either, but I do believe in getting what I paid for, and I will speak up when it comes to my money. Get a back bone ladies! If you don't speak up, then you will continue to get lazy hair dresser's who couldn't give a %$#*, what your hair looks like when you leave the salon.
