Ceiling Fan light wires are Red and White?
I am installing a Harbor Breeze light kit with instructions that say attach the white wire from the kit to the white wire from the fan and the black wire from the kit to the blue wire from the fan. There are two unused wires inside the fan that were labeled For Light with a sticker that went around both wires. One is white and the other is red instead of blue.
The only blue light inside the fan housing connects from the fan to the switch for controlling the fan speed. This is an older fan (mid 80's)... is it safe to assume I hook up white to white and black to red giving configuration? Thank you.

Yes, white to white and black to red. Some older fans, such as SMC, used a red wire instead of a blue one. What make is your fan?
