Home in revocable trust and real estate taxes
We recently put our house in a revocable trust, per our lawyer advice, with the purpose of having the house passed to our children smooth and easy in case of our death, 2 days ago we received a letter from the county property appraisal office telling us that our application for homestead exemption will be invalidated because of "copy of trust not submitted". We told our lawyer about it and he said he never had that problem before.

    Any advice, please?

So you file a copy of the trust with the county court??

But if the trust now owns the property, I would not believe you can get a homestead exemption since there is not a person owning the property any longer a "trust" owns it.

So when you called the clerk at the tax office what did they tell you, since I would assume the first thing you would have done after getting this letter was to call them and has them what and where they wanted it filed.
