    Volume of a hexagon
I want to build a HEXAGON cement pad, 4 inches thick. All six sides of the hexagon are 5.5 feet long.

I asked two different concert companies for a volume of cement to fill the hexagon, I got two very different answers. Now ,I must figure it out... help from the good guys. You people!

    Thanks

The surface area of a perfect hexagon of side length L is:

Given L = 5.5 ft, and the depth is 4 inches, I calculate the total volume to be 26.2 cubic feet.

If the hexagon is irregular, in that the interior angles are not exactly 120 degrees, the actual volume may be slightly less. Hope this helps.
