The first thing you must do is ascertain exactly what's leaking. A pressure pipe? Surface water?
To check for a pressure leak if you're on city water shut everything down bin the house and go out to the meter and see if the little pointer is moving or standing still. If it's creeping you have a hidden leak. If on a pump, shut the pump off at the breaker box and watch the pressure gage. If it's falling you have a pressure leak. Let me know and we'll go to step#2. Thanks first for answering back so quick! The water is very minimal not even a puddle. It looks more like someone spilled something that's how small. I think its because of the rain. Basically here's the story my husband and I are about to start living there and when we went yesteray to start painting and cleaning we saw the minimal water there. Is there anyway to maybe seal the floor and put plastic then wonder board and then carpet because that was a suggestion from my mom who does construction especially since its not really our house? What do you think?

And I think you had better check the meter or pump to see just what kind of a leak that you have. Regards, tom
