How to boot new hard drive
I tried to defrag. My hard drive but it would stop with an error message each time, I run norton disk doctor ,the result was no errors.
So I decided to change the hard drive with an old drive that I used to used as my master drive in another computer but when I installed it ,the computer would not boot but give the message " Invalid boot disk " let me know if I need to copy any file from the original hard drive or I need to adjust the bois system. Or just give the correct way how to get the new hard drive to boot.

A drive has to be bootable. To make it bootable it has to be formatted with the /S switch.

Question: Did you have all system files on that old hardrive, as in windows or another operating system?

If not you need to format that hardrive with an operating system. I would check some of your bios settings too.
