Wage Garnishment of Credit Card debt OREGON
My son is in the process of trying to get his life straightened out. Mainly he is struggling... and succeeding to get off drugs. He's recently found a job (after 4 or 5 years of being jobless). Problem is, he maxed several credit cards unwisely during the time he was using drugs. Most of them are no longer calling or sending letters. But a few still are. My question is: Once they find out he is working, can they garnish his wages? And if so, will he have any type of warning or will it just happen out of the blue? From reading the various questions on this subject, it seems to make a difference where you live. If so, we live in Oregon.
