Pigeon pest, who's responsible?
Hi there,
We have a lot of pigeons around our house (Chicago). On the roof, downstairs and breeding on window of our apartment. Which makes it very yuck and basically impossible to open windows in that particular room. There are droppings all around the house and their feathers and dust litter our backyard. Now my landlady has told me since we moved in (a year ago) that she will do something about that. So far nothing has happened. The pigeons are happily increasing (I remove the eggs from the places I can reach). It is so dirty and I have an infant and I want them to go now! I told the landlady many times, I E-mailed her and I wrote a letter. All of which make her promise to call the "pigeon-guy" next weekend, which of course never happens...
Are pigeons considered a pest? ( I am not from US, have no idea about these things) If yes is it the landlord's responsibility? Is it a legal reason to break the lease?
Thanks,
Silvia
