    3 day notice to quit.
The owner's spouse dislikes us. He is constantly causing problems. Most recently he made an appt for carpets to be put in (we've been living without carpet or tile for 8 months). He told us the wrong day. Because they showed up when we weren't home he was mad. The next day he served us a 3 day to quit notice. Now we've been served with eviction. There are 3 owners of the property and he's not one of them. We agreed and did remodel, paint, etc the property. What do we do?

You mean the owner's spouse is not listed as an owner, but that shouldn't matter if he represents the owners.

Based on what you are telling us there doesn't appear to be grounds for eviction. What is listed on the complaint? If you have a lease I doubt if a court will grant eviction. If the grounds are that you didn't provide access as required, if you can show he gave you the wrong date that won't fly.

However, if you have no lease, you can be told to move with notice equal to one rental period (i.e. a month). If you don't move then you can be evicted.

Even if you have a lease, it appears to be a situation where you do not want to renew your lease so be prepared to move when the lease expires. Also don't give them any excuse (late payments, etc.) to evict you.
