I have medium brown tinted hair I have recently had my roots touched up which was fine but after a few days my roots became an orange colour this has happened before, I am wandering if maybe It could have something to do with hormones or medications, can this happen. How do I now get my roots to match my mid length and ends

Dark hair dyes tends to fade to an orange/red tone after a while, even the roots. The roots will process a lot faster than the rest of your hair which can fade to a brassy tone. Choose a medium ash brown color. Leave the hair color mixture on the orange portions of your hair for 10 minutes then wash it out. This should neutralize the orange tones.
