    Air conditioner shut down
I have an older GE air conditioner that is shutting down after 45 minutes of running. The furnace blower is still runs. After thirty minuts of not running it will start up again. New furnace filter and coils are clean. It has ran the last two months. The fan blade on the motor does turn freely but thinking the motor is going and getting hot shutting it down. Also don't know how much freon is there. Thanks

The motor heating up could be the problem. Also if low on refrigerant it could be going off on the low pressure switch. You will need to determine what it is. To check the refrigerant you do need to be certified. Might be best to call a tech
